The major parts of the machine are feed hopper, tank, power source, rollers and brushes, collecting tray, wax supply system and main frame. The angle of inclination of the machine is considered as the angle of repose of the fruits. Feed hopper was slightly inclined at an angle of 10⁰, which was based on sphericity and angle of repose of fruits. A single phase electric motor (12V) was used to drive the main shaft. Three perforated rollers were used to transfer the excess wax sprayed over the fruits. Six roller brushes ensured the uniform application of wax to the surface of every fruit. A centrifugal pump helped in transferring the wax from the tank to the spraying tube which was having a number of holes for spraying the wax.
